Models aren't just faces and photographers don't just press the buttons. In Pillai's photos you see the amount of work that is involved in both these professions. A model doesn't just stand and looks "pretty" but they are able to work their bodies into sculptural forms. Pillai's work is a testament to the work of great fashion photography in its barest form. You can see the different angels that he takes the shots and his ability to see composition in such a simple setup is amazing. He concentrates on form instead of a model's face, he really makes them work it. I can only imagine what he's like in the studio...
